Alison McGee She Jumps snowshoeAlison McGee is a Special Education Teacher, currently teaching in Great Barrington at Monument Valley Regional Middle School. She has previously taught in Pittsfield Public Schools and now serves on the city’s School Committee. Previously, Alison was a magazine editor–a career that brought her to the Berkshires unexpectedly 13 years ago. In addition to teaching, Alison still does freelance editing and writing on occasion, but spends most of her time volunteering with several outdoors-oriented organizations including the Berkshire Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA), Little Bellas girls’ mountain bike camp, and SheJumps (a nonprofit aiming to promote women’s and girls’ participation in outdoor activities).
