In Memory of Lauri Klefos

Lauri, you will be missed.

Lauri Klefos: February 26, 1956 – November 28, 2018

1Berkshire and the Berkshires have lost a great one, Lauri Klefos will forever be an integral part of the Berkshire story, having impacted it in so many positive ways throughout the past decade.

Lauri was hired as the President & CEO of the Berkshire Visitors Bureau in the spring of 2009. At the time of the 1Berkshire merger, effective July 1, 2016 – she became Executive Vice President of 1Berkshire. Throughout that entire 2008 – Present timeframe, she was informally considered the region’s Chief Tourism Official.

To those of us who worked so closely with her – she was a leader, a teacher, a mentor and a friend. One of the great lessons Lauri taught so many ways to enjoy all that life has to offer – family, faith, career, exploring near and far and the simple joy of a good glass of wine with a friend.

We will honor her legacy best by recommitting again and again to the work she so selflessly pursued. Today we raise a glass to her, she will be sincerely missed but we will carry on her legacy of strength, humor, and passion for getting the job done right.
