Be Part of the Berkshire Message

The work of the 1Berkshire marketing team is purpose-driven, to simultaneously preserve, position, and promote the Berkshire’s County’s unique sense of place, and mission-based to ensure that the Berkshires remain top-of-mind to visitors. No one knows how better to reach the Berkshire customer than 1Berkshire.

Our approach is two-pronged: As the Official Regional Tourism Council for the Berkshires, the majority of our marketing work lies in attracting new and repeat visitors to our region through a strong year-round destination marketing campaign, of which our members are a part. The other side of our marketing work is ensuring the ongoing success of our local economy, making sure that Berkshire businesses and nonprofits have ways to market and promote themselves within the County. By doing both of these things, we ensure that the Berkshires continues to be a top tier travel destination powered by a robust and thriving economy.

Whether you are looking to reach visitors or local businesses, our dynamic marketing strategies, which span branded digital advertising, high-impact public relations, targeted email campaigns, lead generation, digital retargeting, and both paid and organic social media, are here to work for you.

1Berkshire is the official Regional Tourism Council for the Berkshires.

This means we represent the entire region at the state level. We are the ONLY organization in all of Berkshire County actively promoting the ENTIRE Berkshires as a vibrant four-season tourist destination all year long. The marketing efforts of all businesses and nonprofits, from world-renowned cultural institutions to small startups, work together to give both visitors and residents a positive Berkshire experience. But the work of 1Berkshire is unique. Part of our mission is to bring people to the region as a top of the funnel marketing entity. The job of your advertising is to get people through your doors once they are here.

Whether or not you purchase an ad from 1Berkshire, you benefit from our work, which contributes to the $839 million in direct visitor spending. Our work is funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism, which stipulates two important requirements:

  1. All marketing and advertising must be 50 miles outside of Berkshire County. If you’re wondering why are you not served our ads, this is why. You’re already here! Our aim is to attack new and repeat visitor to the region, and our grant defines a visitor as someone coming from at least 50-miles outside of the county and (ideally) staying overnight in the Berkshires.
  2. All marketing and advertising must be matched dollar for dollar. When you purchase advertising from 1Berkshire you are not only making the most of the region’s entire tourism promotion engine, you are also supporting the economic health of the entire Berkshire County.
