1Berkshire launches the jobs thing, a hiring portal to the Berkshires

BERKSHIRE COUNTY, MA – 1Berkshire is proud to announce the launch of the jobs thing, the first Berkshire County exclusive jobs portal which only hosts positions that are permanent, full-time and pay $40,000+ a year. After conversations with employers across the region, frustrated job seekers, and career-focused professionals looking to advance, we learned that employers often have a hard time marketing select employment opportunities in the county, let alone outside the area. the jobs thing tackles this workforce gap as a reliable jobs resource for local job seekers and employers, and it’s also the first and only job site in the Berkshires that is actively marketed across the country to help recruit new employees and residents to the region.

the jobs thing was created in partnership with Berkshire Health Systems, General Dynamics Mission Systems, Williams College and Greylock Federal Credit Union through a “jobs collaboration” project that started last year. Together, we launched a pilot marketing campaign that utilized digital retargeting directed at specific audiences across the country. Over just a few weeks, 500,000+ individuals were exposed to employment opportunities here in the Berkshires. We found that a significant number of those who were exposed clicked through to our partner websites. It was with this evidence that 1Berkshire began to develop a brand-new hiring portal open to members and non-members of our organization.

We are incredibly excited about the opportunities the jobs thing can offer our members and others who are looking to market their positions and the region. With this tool, we aim to raise the bar of employment opportunities and help to recruit great talent to the Berkshires. Take a look; we’re sure you’ll be just as excited as we are for what the jobs thing can be.

Job seekers and employers interested in opportunities are invited to check out our Jobs page for more information. Detailed information on postings as well as rate information is available on our Submit Jobs page. Questions or comments about the jobs thing can be directed to Ben Lamb (blamb@1berkshire.com), Director of Economic Development.
