Position Description

Berkshire County Arc is seeking a highly-experienced professional to fulfill the position of Vice President of Residential Services. Are you motivated to lead committed professionals in fulfilling a mission to enrich the lives of those we serve? Do you want to make a difference?

Founded in 1954, Berkshire County Arc (BCArc) is a human services organization. BCArc offers a broad range of community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and autism throughout Berkshire and Hampden Counties in Massachusetts. BCArc serves more than 1,000 individuals annually.

This position is part of the Executive Team. This position interfaces with all departments in the organization. The Vice President of Residential Services is responsible for overseeing the management of the Residential and Shared Living Programs through the daily implementation of policies and procedures, supervision of staff, maintaining budgets, evaluation of services, and review for quality assurance.

The position directly supervises: Director of Residential Services and Director of Brain Injury Services.


  • Master’s degree in human services field or a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of seven years’ supervisory experience managing and leading programs for people with developmental disabilities and brain injury.
  • Excellent oral and written communication as well as organizational & computer skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team leadership style are necessary for success.
  • Knowledge of Department of Developmental Services and Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission regulatory requirements a plus.
