General Dynamics Mission Systems is hiring a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer – Submarine Combat Systems AN/BYG1.
Basic Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
Clearance Requirements
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Relocation can be considered for this position.

As a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer – Submarine Combat Systems AN/BYG1 you’ll lead model and simulation activities as you participate in requirements analysis and management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification). What You Bring To The Table
- A bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; Agile experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles and theories.
- Strong proficiency with requirements management & system modeling tools.

What Experience Sets You Apart
- Experience and high-level of understanding of all of the individual components of the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System as well as TI/APB cycles.
- High level of understanding of Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical System (SWFTS) General Requirements List (GRL) interface definition.
- Ability to understand, represent, and guide Weapon Control System (WCS) Software architecture and interface discussions with AN/BYG-1 community.
- Understanding of Legacy Weapon Control System/Payload Control System (WCS/PCS) requirements and external interfaces.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to present WCS design, risks, and progress with respect to AN/BYG-1 CCS integration.
- Operational knowledge/experience with WCS/PCS would be a huge bonus.
