Blantyre Renovations Nearly Complete; Bistro, Carriage House Open

LENOX — The multimillion-dollar renovation of Blantyre is taking longer than expected to complete, but a more casual dining area that the new owners have installed in the 114-year-old former Gilded Age cottage is open for business.

Blantyre Bistro, a bar area carved out of the main dining room, officially opened to the public on Tuesday, according to Daniel Hostettler, the president and group managing director for Ocean House Management of Rhode Island, which is managing one of the Berkshires’ most well known luxury lodging establishments for new owner Linda Law.

The restored resort had originally hoped to open by Easter weekend, but the official opening is now scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28, Hostettler said. The project for a lodging establishment that is a member of the exclusive boutique hotel association Relais & Chateaux, is currently about 80 percent done, he added. The renovations began in early January, but the bulk of the work started in late February. Read more about the renovations >>
