PITTSFIELD — It’s early on a sunny morning in late February. There’s traffic in downtown Pittsfield, but the sidewalks on North Street are mostly empty. There are vacant parking spaces that will be hard to find later in the day. The city is still waking up.
In contrast with this sleepy tableau, there’s a hub of activity inside Dottie’s Coffee Lounge on North Street. A smattering of budding entrepreneurs has joined representatives of several financial and business-related agencies to participate in what’s become a regular monthly activity — an entrepreneurial meet-up hosted by Berkshire Starts, the small business division of the 1Berkshire economic development agency.
