It’s been a busy spring for 1Berkshire’s Economic Development team! From the Small Business Resource Expo to Entrepreneurial Meetups, graduating our Youth Leadership Program Class of 2026 and kicking off our Class of 2027, and more. At the same time, we continue to offer opportunities for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and job seekers. Here are just a few of our key services that you can take advantage of all year round!

Small Business Consultations

Do you want to start a business? Do you think you might want to start a business some day? Are you currently running a business and looking to make some tweaks? Good news – our team can help you at whatever point you’ve arrived at in your business journey from the spark of an idea to passing the torch, and best of all, it’s FREE. Our consults are partially supported by 1Berkshire membership dues, paving the way for success for both new and existing Berkshire businesses. 

You can register for your consultation by filling out this short form and picking a date and time for your consultation. You’ll get a one-hour Zoom call with our team, during which we’ll have a conversation about your business and what help you need at the time of your call. Afterwards, we’ll follow up with emails that make connections to local, state, and/or federal resources, other service providers in the area. Not bad for the price of free! The Jobs Thing

Are you looking to hire for your business? Are you looking for the next step in your career? Check out the jobs thing, our job posting platform! The jobs thing has maintained affordable rates for employers and has been free to jobseekers since we launched it in 2018, helping hundreds of Berkshire employers find great candidates for their open positions, and thousands of residents in the Berkshires and nearby to find quality jobs that help them build and live their lives in the region. 

Jobseekers can search open positions by keyword, or by level of seniority, field, and permanent vs. seasonal. Employers can post jobs that pay at least $40,000 annually (or the hourly equivalent), and we strive to make the process as simple-yet-impactful as possible. When you submit a posting, it gets reviewed and copy edited by a member of our team, then acknowledged with a confirmation email that provides the link. With the position active on the jobs thing, it also gets posted to 1Berkshire’s LinkedIn page for enhanced visibility.

Commercial Site Selector 

If you’re looking to move your business to the Berkshires or within the region, if you’re just looking for some office space, or if you have commercial real estate you wish to rent or sell, check out 1Berkshire’s Commercial Site Selector, a clearinghouse for available commercial real estate! Free to use for those seeking commercial real estate and for those who wish to rent/sell it, the site selector is a great way to learn about available properties or to find potential renters and buyers. 

To list your business, send an email to economicdev@1berkshire.com and we’ll set up an account for you, after which you can post as many properties as you wish at no charge. If you’re just looking for space, no account is required!
