1Berkshire is a county-wide, not-for-profit,
membership organization focused on economic development and promotion of the region as a preferred place to visit, live, and grow a business. As the region’s official economic development organization, 1Berkshire provides programs that connect businesses with each other and with potential customers. We aim to be the voice of the Berkshire business community, working to develop future leaders, both youth (260+ graduates) and professional (640+ graduates), and supporting entrepreneurs at all stages with free consultations (150+ annually), networking events (80+ annually), skill-building programs, grant support and distribution ($2.1 million in FY23), and many other resources.
As the Regional Tourism Council delegate for the Berkshires, 1Berkshire actively promotes four-season tourism through robust year-round marketing programs and products, positioning all sectors of the visitor economy to be seen far and wide by primary feeder markets (NYC and Boston) and further afield. In FY23, our
Marketing Impact was 86 million impressions; Social Media presence was 24 million impressions, and
berkshires.org – the #1 tool travelers use to plan trips to the region – saw more than 2 million impressions.
A strong membership of 700 businesses, of all sizes and from all sectors, make 1Berkshire’s work possible.
