BERKSHIRE COUNTY, MA – 1Berkshire – April 18, 2019 – 1Berkshire’s Fall Foliage Parade is excited to announce this year’s parade theme, There’s No Place Like Home in The Berkshires in honor of the cinematic classic Wizard of Oz which is celebrating its 80th anniversary.
The Wizard of Oz film premiered August 25, 1939, and immediately captured national attention. It was nominated for six Oscars at the 1940 Academy Awards including best picture and won for original score and original song, Over the Rainbow. We hope to capture the Berkshires attention with this fun and creative theme to present the best parade to date.
The parade committee invites the entire Berkshire community to dust off their ruby red slippers and start brainstorming about ways to participate in this year’s parade. There are a variety of ways to get involved including, but not limited to signing up to have a float, entering a band/music unit, marching unit, veterans unit, or public safety unit or volunteering on the parade committee. Lastly, there are a variety of parade sponsorship opportunities you can take advantage of.
So save the date for the 64th Annual 1Berkshire Fall Foliage Parade which will travel through downtown North Adams on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 1PM.
