General Dynamics Mission Systems is hiring a Workplace Solutions (WPS) Project Manager.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Construction, Project/Program Management or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Clearance Requirements

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities For This Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Facilities and Real Estate (FRE) organization has an immediate opening for Workplace Solutions Project Manager to lead multiple Workplace Solutions design and construction projects through project stages (Qualify, Assess, Execute and Close). The Workplace Solutions (WPS) Project Manager will work with collaborative teams to support business case development, funding requests, design, and execution of complicated and complex facilities and workplace improvement projects that support some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.

Qualifications

The following are not required, but preferred:

  • Certifications/Licenses LEED, AIA, PE, PMP.
  • Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) construction and project management experience.
  • Remote project management experience.
  • Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) remediation experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings, furniture, and space planning concepts.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to budget, schedule, procurement, and risk mitigation.
  • Competent at managing all types/sizes of projects, including, but not limited to building expansions, occupied renovations, secure (SCIF) construction, agile workplace implementation, manufacturing spaces, and labs.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office applications and MS Project; comfortable with collaborative tools, including SharePoint, Skype, Zoom; experience with Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) tools.

  • Due to the nature of work performed at our facilities, US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute project goals, schedules, budgets, and detailed assumptions with methodology for accomplishing and/or managing goals and objectives.
  • Act as the primary contact with the internal GDMS business unit throughout the duration of the project.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate areas of concern regarding potential risk to GDMS business.
  • Coordinate any necessary due diligence efforts on behalf of the project delivery team, maintaining and delivering all appropriate documentation.
  • Lead visioning, programming, and conceptual design phases.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources to develop a detailed project budget.
  • Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules and manage the successful execution of projects so that completion falls within intended time frames.
  • Partner with business to identify risks, analyze probability, and agree upon necessary mitigation measures to satisfy program requirements.
  • Prepare various RFPs needed for vendor and contractor services as well as manage the contractor and vendor selection process.
  • Facilitate initiation of all critical project meetings and coordination of exercises with internal staff, key stakeholders, and external users.
  • Manage project performance against schedules, scheduled milestones, and critical path items on multiple projects. Manage vendor and project team performance to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Manage 3rd party vendors, including, but not limited to architects, engineers, general contractors, furniture dealers, move managers, security, and IT vendors.
  • Partner with Real Estate, Finance, Facility Operations, IT, Security, and Internal Communications to ensure all interests are represented in project planning and execution stages.
  • Projects are worked across the continental US, so the ability to travel is required.
