BYP Ugly Sweater Party Location: Hotel on North
This fall, Berkshire Young Professionals were busy! In October Berkshire Mountain Distillers and Big Elm Brewing co-hosted a BYP social. The first stop of the two-part social was Berkshire Mountain Distillery in Sheffield. There we were given a tour of the distillery and a little lesson in how the spirits are made. Some BYPer’s even helped with the wax dipping process of their Berkshire Bourbon bottles! Samples of their great products were available throughout the event. We then made the long trip (just up the street) to Big Elm Brewing. Tours were provided to anyone interested. We learned about their humble beginnings and saw how much work goes into producing great local beers (which were also available to sample during the event).
Our own Karden Rabin of Boundless treated us to our October Professional Development Series Event, Smart Moves for the Deskbound. This event took place at Allegrone’s newly completed Berkshire Design Center. Attendees were able to participate in a fun and educational session that taught us how to “un-stick” our bodies and reverse some of the damaging factors of sitting at a desk. Following the session, Allegrone showed off the beautiful design center with a tour of the facility.
November’s Professional Development Series was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lenox. Our host provided a tasty spread of food and a great atmosphere in their lounge area. This time the local Toastmasters Club: The Last Word took center stage. We learned some helpful speaking tips and tricks that were later put to use in a fun activity.
On November 10th, BYP headed up to the beautiful Mezze Bistro + Bar in Williamstown for our monthly social. After a half-hour of socializing and being fed gourmet appetizers and delicious cocktails, we decided to play an icebreaker game using delicious candy-coated chocolates. Each person was given a handful of the colored candies. Picking a color meant answering corresponding questions ranging from “who’s your favorite superhero” to “where’s your favorite restaurant.” This produced a lot of laughing, commiserating, and stomach aches from eating too much candy. We closed out the year with our Ugly Sweater Party at Hotel on North.
