New Downtown Pittsfield Inc. Leader Aims to Make City ‘Heart of Berkshires’

Downtown Pittsfield Inc.’s new executive director, Cheryl Mirer, already feels her job is a perfect fit. Mirer started about three weeks ago and is plugging into the downtown scene, shaking hands and familiarizing herself with the needs of the neighborhood. The mission? To draw more feet downtown. Mirer moved to the area from Potsdam, N.Y., where she and her husband ventured for a job he took. But she missed Western Massachusetts too much, she said.
