As the snow melts and the flowers start to bloom, a new season will begin to take hold on the Berkshires. I’m not talking about spring, I’m talking about Wedding Season! This is the time of year when brides and grooms rush about the Berkshires looking for venues, cake, dresses, (and since outdoor weddings are so popular in the Berkshires) tents, tables, and chairs.
Katherine “Kat” Lockridge is the co-owner of Classical Tents and Party Goods, a locally owned and operated business specializing in wedding and event rentals for over 25 years. Kat is deeply involved with the local community. She is a board member of the Berkshire Visitors Bureau and the Lenox Chamber of Commerce and the Founder of the Lenox Wedding Tour. For the past two years, Kat has taken the lead in organizing our “Celebrate the Berkshires” fall event and this month she was instrumental in running the Berkshire Career Fair as a volunteer, helping 1Berkshire bring 50 employers together with over 250 job seekers.
Kat is also a mom who enjoys hiking, photography, gardening, economics, reading, and cooking. She dedicates her spare time to studying business psychology so she can better understand, inspire, and motivate her employees. With such an active life, she finds comfort in the beauty of the Berkshires. “Despite how busy my life can be, I can find peace and tranquility in the woods and mountains of the Berkshires,” she says.
Kat plays an important role in the Berkshires. From helping couples with their big day to supporting local institutions, many people have been affected by her commitment to excellence and 1Berkshire would like to recognize her for all of her hard work and dedication to the region.
