It is that time of year again! The weather has gotten cooler, the trees have begun their beautiful transformation from varying shades of green to a spectrum of golden yellows, oranges, and reds. This visual change not only signifies the beginning of fall but also kicks-off the area’s many cherished autumnal events. One of the most popular events is the annual Fall Foliage Parade brought to you by 1Berkshire. The parade will take place Sunday, September 30 at 1 pm in Downtown North Adams.
The Fall Foliage Parade is a time-honored tradition, where crowds of visitors and residents alike pay homage to the beauty and splendor #intheberkshires. This year’s annual Fall Foliage Festival Parade will have not one but two Grand Marshals and have we mentioned that they are both dogs?! In honor of the Year of the Dog theme, the Fall Foliage Parade Committee found it fitting to be led by charismatic canines. Seymour, an Australian Shepherd and Border Collie mix, spends his time volunteering with owner Bri Rousseau at the North Adams Public Library, the Brien Center and ROOTS Teen Center. Curby, a former shelter pet, wowed the judges with his little hat, tuxedo, and big personality! You will not want to miss these 2 cuties.
So mark your calendar for 1 pm, Sunday, September 30, 2018, and come celebrate the fall with us (and don’t forget to bring along your pup). The route runs two miles, starting at Ocean State Job Lot and ending at the High Rise on Ashland Street in Downtown North Adams. It is not too late to get involved. Sign up to volunteer or show your support by sponsoring the parade. For more information on ways to get involved contact Stephanie Bosley at email@example.com. We hope to see you there!
Special thanks to our Platinum Leaf Sponsors, MountainOne, Greylock Federal Credit Union and TD Bank and our many local businesses that sponsor the Fall Foliage Parade.
