It’s that wonderful time of year again! The trees have begun their stunning transformation from varying shades of green to a spectrum of golden yellows, oranges, and reds. This visual change not only signifies the beginning of fall but also kicks-off the area’s many cherished autumnal events. One of the most popular events is the Fall Foliage Parade in North Adams.
For over 60 years, the Fall Foliage Parade has drawn in crowds of visitors and residents alike to pay homage to the beauty and splendor of fall in The Berkshires. Generously supported by the city of North Adams along with local sponsors, donors, and volunteers the 61st Annual Fall Foliage Parade on October 2, 2016, is sure to leave its mark.
The parade theme this year is a Salute to National Parks and Monuments, in honor of the National Park Service’s centennial celebration. Many great floats and marchers have already signed-on to ensure that the parade is fun for all attendees. As usual, we will give out the Golden Harvest Award to the best performing high school marching band.
We are happy to honor State Senator Benjamin Downing as this year’s Grand Marshal. With such an esteemed Grand Marshal and all the support and donations received to date, this year’s parade stands to be better than ever.
If you want to get involved there is still time to do so. With so many tasks still ahead, the committee welcomes volunteers. This is the perfect opportunity to do some team building in your group by supporting the parade. For more information on the parade or to become a volunteer or sponsor email Danielle Thomas or call (413) 499-1600.
We look forward to seeing you in North Adams on October 2,2016 for a fun-filled celebration of fall in The Berkshires.
