Buy a Gift Card or Shop Online

Many local businesses offer online or over-the-phone ordering, so if you’re looking for plants and tools to tackle the spring garden, or need to send a gift to mom for Mothers’ Day, shopping local is easy and accessible. If you don’t need to buy anything right now, consider purchasing gift cards for yourself or as gifts to be used at a future date. The money will help small businesses today and you can enjoy shopping in the future. Promote a Biz That’s Meaningful to You

We all have our favorite go-to shops, restaurants, and galleries in the Berkshires. Look for creative ways to show the local love by promoting your fave on social media with a review or sharing of posts. If your preferred biz sends out fun eblasts, why not share them with a family member or friend so they can consider shopping there, too? Businesses rely on good reviews and word-of-mouth, so take 5 minutes to show the love with a little online promotion.

Say Kind Words

If you don’t have money to spend right now or want to create a more personal connection, send a note to a local business and thank them for their service or excellent products. Owning a business is stressful in the best of times. Kind words, compliments, and encouragement can really brighten someone’s day. Send a message on Facebook, Instagram, or an email.
