1Berkshire seeks a current college student or recent college graduate here in the Berkshires for an exciting paid semester-long internship! As the Special Projects Associate, you will assist our Economic Development and Member Services teams and spend your time with us immersed in the middle of the Berkshire business economy. You will engage with our team in important projects and programs such as the Berkshire Blueprint 2.0 implementation, the 1Berkshire Youth Leadership Program, and the jobs thing while also participating in event planning and execution and member engagement. Attendance at meetings with regional leaders and influential community members will also expose you to a variety of systems and networks, including but not limited to: the Economic Prosperity Impact Council (EPIC), Berkshire Compact, Berkshire Starts, Transportation Strategy Committee, and our regional chambers of commerce.

Desired Qualifications
1Berkshire hopes to find a motivated team player that would enjoy working with a creative and driven team that’s passionate about the region. Applicants should possess familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software (Google docs and/or Microsoft Office Suite) as well as a comfort level with learning new digital interfaces and systems. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, an ability to balance multiple tasks, a passion for the Berkshires, and a willingness to learn while doing. Web skills, social media, and strong writing experience are a plus.
Compensation and Application Instructions
Hourly Wage: 15 hours a week @ $12.50/hr
Timeframe: (Earliest) September 16th – December 13th. Additional week optional.
