Berkshire Starts Stories – Stacy Litke – ShopTheBerkshires.com

Here in the Berkshires, we are lucky to have an incredible pool of motivated entrepreneurs and innovators who are continually developing, launching and growing their own ventures. To support this dynamic population, 1Berkshire runs a series of programs dedicated to providing networking, skill building, and resources to help entrepreneurs thrive here. Through our Entrepreneurial Meetups (sponsored by Pittsfield Co-op Bank), our Get Mentored Program, our Business Bootcamp, in collaboration with MCLA, and our one-on-one business support, entrepreneurs and inspired business owners have found the tools they need to live, play and WORK in the Berkshires.

Each month, to celebrate the work being done by these inspiring folks, we will be highlighting individuals who have engaged in the Berkshire Starts Programs. Their stories are each unique, and their ventures are dynamic and varied. This month, as part of Women in Business, we are excited to share the story of Stacy Litke and her venture ShopTheBerkshires.com.

Stacy Litke from shoptheberkshires.comShopTheBerkshires.com is an online shopping site featuring a carefully curated collection of products that are made here in the Berkshire region. The site currently features almost 100 products from nearly 20 makers, ranging from gourmet salts and BBQ sauce to handcrafted jewelry and silk scarves. Each maker is featured on the site as well so that buyers can get a feel for how their product is made, and by whom. Selections change frequently as new makers are added and seasons change. Visitors to the site include those who have visited the Berkshires and have an affinity for the region, but also local folks who appreciate quality products and want a convenient way to support local businesses.

For Stacy this site was a labor of love, drawing upon her many years of experience in finance and technology. Having grown up in Western Massachusetts and now settled in the Berkshires, she has a great fondness for those artisans, farmers, and businesses that call this place home. The goal of this venture is to provide another channel for buying these locally produced products, supporting those businesses in the Berkshire Region and ideally broadening the market they can reach.

Working closely with the Economic Development team at 1Berkshire, Stacy went through our Get Mentored program and has since continued receiving support through our one-on-one mentorship. Stacy is a great example of one type of entrepreneur we are passionate about serving and supporting here #intheberkshires.
