HANCOCK — Tourists, a boutique hotel that opened in North Adams last summer, was honored Thursday with 1Berkshire’s signature Putting the Berkshires on the Map award.

The award was presented during the group’s ninth Celebrate the Berkshires event, at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort. More than 300 people turned out for the event, during which the winners of the 2019 Berkshire Trendsetter Awards competition also were announced by 1Berkshire, the county’s state-designated economic development agency.

Tourists, a 48-room hotel/riverside retreat, is built on the site of a former motel where the Mohawk Trail, Hoosic River and Appalachian Trail converge.
