1Berkshire Starts Entrepreneurial Material Translation Project
April 4th, 2022 – Berkshire County, MA – 1Berkshire is excited to announce that it has begun a several month long project to collect materials and resources in the region focused on entrepreneurial resources and guidance, to then have them translated into Spanish. This effort, in partnership with the Berkshire Immigrant Center and Berkshire Language Management, aims to help increase the accessibility of key information, resources, and marketing materials for Spanish speaking businesses and entrepreneurs in the region.
Through the research period of the Berkshire Blueprint 2.0, it was noted that our immigrant population was the most rapidly growing population in the region, increasing by over 25% in the 10 years between 2007 and 2017. With the national trends indicating that immigrants are some of the most motivated and active communities of entrepreneurs and small business owners, 1Berkshire has been actively working with the Berkshire Immigrant Center for over 2 years to navigate opportunities and resources to support the needs of this critical group in our region.
Over the next few months, 1Berkshire will work with its collaborative partners and fellow entrepreneurial support programs in the Berkshires to pull together the most critical resources to be translated. From there, translation experts from the Berkshire Immigrant Center and Berkshire Language Management will help to get the documents and audio translated into at least Spanish, and potentially additional languages as capacity allows.
Ben Lamb, Director of Economic Development at 1Berkshire noted “it is exciting for us to be able to directly invest resources into supporting our immigrant entrepreneurs, and immigrant owned and operated business community in this very tangible way, and we are so glad to be working with two incredible partner organizations right here in the region to do so.” Michelle Lopez, Director of the Berkshire Immigrant Center adds “we were humbled to be asked along with Berkshire Language Management to be a part of this transformative and necessary program to increase access for immigrant-owned businesses and entrepreneurs whose native language isn’t English. 1Berkshire is helping to pave the way for change in how the Berkshires welcomes and supports all types of businesses ”.

1Berkshire Comienza su Proyecto de Traducción de Material Empresarial
4 de abril, 2022 – Condado de Berkshire, MA – 1Berkshire se complace en anunciar que comenzó un proyecto de varios meses reuniendo materiales y recursos en la región enfocados en los recursos empresariales y de orientación, para luego traducirlos al español. Este empeño, en colaboración con el Berkshire Immigrant Center y Berkshire Language Management, tiene por objetivo ayudar a aumentar el acceso a información clave, recursos y materiales sobre marketing para los negocios y empresarios de habla hispana en la región.
A través del período de investigación de Berkshire Blueprint 2.0, se vio que nuestra población inmigrante era la que más rápidamente estaba creciendo, aumentando en más de 25% en los diez años entre el 2007 y el 2017. Con la tendencia nacional indicando que algunas de las comunidades más motivadas y activas de empresarios y dueños de pequeños negocios se componen de inmigrantes, 1Berkshire ha estado trabajando activamente con el Berkshire Immigrant Center hace más de dos años explorando oportunidades y recursos para ayudar con las necesidades de este grupo crítico en nuestra región.
En los próximos meses, 1Berkshire trabajará con sus colaboradores y programas de apoyo empresarial en los Berkshires para recopilar los recursos más críticos para ser traducidos. Entonces, los expertos en el Berkshire Immigrant Center y Berkshire Language Management ayudarán a traducir los documentos y material en audio al español, y posiblemente en otros idiomas, como lo permita su capacidad.
