ย The 69th Annual Northern Berkshire Fall Foliage Parade, brought to you by 1Berkshire and the City of North Adams, took place on Sunday, October 5th. This yearโs theme wasย To Northern Berkshire & Beyond, aย spellbinding journey into the extraordinary, where dreams take flight and imagination knows no bounds. Grand Marshal Nick Mantello led the nearly 100 units in this annual festive event; which was attended by thousands of spectators from all over Berkshire county and beyond. The float makers did an outstanding job once again; five of them stood out and received extra recognition.
The five float award winners were:
- Harry S. Orr Award (Best Overall): Studio North Dance Arts, Inc for their Star Wars inspired float complete with the Death Star
- Hayden Award (2nd place): North Adams Pride performed Elton Johnโs Rocketman
- Mayor’s Award (3rd place): Very Good celebrated the Tim Burton class Mars Attacks!
- Grand Marshal’s Award (4th place): Wheeler & Taylor, Inc. and their rocketship
- Parade Director’s Award (5th place): MASS MoCA who welcomed โAll Creaturesโ
As the space flight landed at the parade’s finish line, our committee members unveiled next year’s theme and date on a banner with flair of nostalgia: mark your calendars for Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 1 PM, when we will celebrate the 70th anniversaryย of the Fall Foliage Parade withย 70 Years in Motion: Time-Traveling Through North Berkshire.
