Berkshire Health Systems seeks a Bariatric Program Coordinator.

Definition/Primary Functions

The Bariatric Coordinator is responsible for overall planning, and operation of the clinical aspects of the Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery Program under the direction of program managers. This person manages ongoing analysis, development and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the program’s clinical functions. Oversees the day-to-day management of the surgical weight loss program and serves as the liaison to coordinating care throughout the hospital. Oversees and coordinates community outreach programs and is responsible for education of staff, physicians, and patients.

Position Qualifications

(Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years nursing experience in the clinical setting required.
  • Experience in coordinating and conducting adult education programs required.

Education and Training:

  • BSN required.
  • MSN or masters in related field preferred.
  • CBN – Certified Bariatric Nurse preferred.

License, Certification & Registration:

  • RN License – Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts.

Other Requirements:

  • Recognized as a leader and role model in specialty area of nursing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects in an organized manner and bring projects to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with nurses, and physicians, demonstrating respect for all healthcare personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently maintain a work schedule.
  • Identified by peers as a role model with respect to dedication to outpatients and the profession of nursing.
  • Proficiency in use of computers and aggregation and interpretation of data for research purposes.
