1Berkshire and Shakespeare & Company to Host Economic Development Opportunity Session

Lenox, MA — October 10, 2019 — 1Berkshire, in partnership with Shakespeare & Company, will be hosting an invite-only Economic Development Opportunity Session at Shakespeare & Company’s property in Lenox on October 28th at 10am. This session, which will be centered on the organization’s goals for advancing and diversifying the economic impact and capacity of their facility, will provide attendees with information about current plans, potential opportunities, and the regional connectivity that Shakespeare & Company holds. Along with a number of local leaders and stakeholders, the following attendees will also be joining the session:

  • Executive Director of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Anita Walker

By bringing together this group of local and state leadership, this engagement aims to elevate understanding of the potential that one of our premier cultural institutions in the Berkshires has to offer, and help to showcase the incredible, unique economic engine that Shakespeare & Company is, and can become. Efforts like those of Shakespeare & Company directly align with the Berkshire Blueprint 2.0, the regional economic strategic imperative launched by 1Berkshire in February. 1Berkshire Economic Development Director Ben Lamb notes, “This is a prime example of a cultural institution creating a whole new dynamic of development and strategically-diverse growth within our creative economy cluster in the Berkshires.”
