Calling All Berkshire Entrepreneurs

As the leaves begin to change color and autumn returns to the Berkshires, so too does 1Berkshire’s Berkshire Starts Pitch Competition! If you have a great business or idea that you would like to test before a panel of expert judges, don’t miss your chance to sign up today! Pitch Competitions are great ways to refine business ideas, build confidence, connect with peers and mentors, and gain access to investors.

The competition will be held at The Stationery Factory in Dalton. The date has been postponed to February 15, 2017. Winning pitches will be awarded small cash prizes, but all participants will gain access to an audience of mentors, advisors, and resource providers. We hope our pitch contests will create excitement in the community, provide new opportunities to entrepreneurs, and help those who want to start businesses to feel more connected, supported, and encouraged.

Agricultural initiatives bloom in the Berkshires.

Applications are due by Wednesday, September 21. Five finalists will be chosen to present before the panel of judges, and all applicants are encouraged to attend the Pitch Camp on September 27th. The camp focuses on teaching the basics of pitching in a variety of scenarios and aims to better prepare entrepreneurs for challenges involved with seeking an investment.

Berkshire Starts aims to foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem throughout the region by focusing on the accessibility of three types of tools: financial capital, affordable and/or collaborative workspace, and human expertise.

Make sure to keep an eye on our website and events calendar for more information about this great program and apply now for the competition!
