1Berkshire’s Creative Resources Conference Continues Connecting Local Entrepreneurs

BERKSHIRE COUNTY, MA – 1Berkshire announces the return of its Creative Resources Conference, a day-long event that supports artists, creative entrepreneurs, arts administrators, and non-profit cultural organizations. The event will be held at MASS MoCA in downtown North Adams on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Learn more at https://1berkshire.com/calendar/creative-resources-conference/.

The Creative Resources Conference, which was held for the first time last fall, helped dozens of Berkshire creatives connect with business services, resources, industry experts and each other. Thanks to the positive response from attendees and panelists alike, the conference has been moved to a larger venue, allowing 1Berkshire to increase capacity and include programming for cultural nonprofits this year.

The new nonprofit programming track includes panels and workshops on building audiences, public programs that matter, and finding and hiring the right employees. The panels for artists and creative entrepreneurs cover a range of topics such as bookkeeping, financial planning, sustainable selling, scaling up, unique marketing, and balancing profit with community impact.

The afternoon’s keynote address will be given by Cathy Edwards, Executive Director of New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA). NEFA is one of six regional arts organizations established with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts to strengthen the national arts infrastructure by cultivating the arts on a regional level. NEFA’s programs are regional, national, and international in scope, and support artists and communities through grants and other opportunities in dance, music, theater, and public art.
